My journey into the world of yoga began 13 years ago in the basement of my church building when I attended a free yoga class put on by a friend.  I was hooked.  I came home and googled "yoga" and discovered that I lived 3 blocks from an incredible studio that had been in business in New York City since the 90s.  In those early days, I scrimped and saved to take two or three yoga classes a month.

 

Fast forward a few years and my family and I moved to the Bay Area.  I found a wonderful yoga community there and after a rough bout of postpartum depression, decided to dive into yoga teacher training as a means to take back some time for myself.  Teacher training was an incredible journey and I quickly jumped into teaching at local studios and gyms.

 

I taught for about 18 months before COVID changed everything.  All of my studios closed and the gym went silent.  My family and I made a move to the Sacramento area.  With COVID closures and a family move, I stepped away from teaching for 2 years, focusing all of my efforts on my practice instead.

 

Now I find myself finishing up a Teacher Mastermind program and teaching once a week at a new-to-me studio.  I am so happy to be dipping my toe back into the world of teaching.  The Sacramento community has welcomed me with open arms.  I have much more to learn and much more share.
