First off...HERE'S the story of the exploding whale. 😉
Hello, Flowity Flow Club!
Welcome to this week's flow session! Before we dive in, I want to share a powerful breathing technique we practiced in class: the long, slow exhale. By focusing on a 4-count inhale and an 8-count exhale, we can slow the respiratory rate, calm the nervous system, and reduce the heart rate. This technique is one of my favorites because it's not only effective in class but also incredibly useful in daily life. Mastering the art of calming your body through breath is invaluable.
This week's flow follows a tried-and-true formula: teaching two sequences separately and then combining them into one seamless flow. This approach challenges students while ensuring they are prepared for the journey ahead. The result is a beautiful moving meditation filled with energy and grace.
Here’s what we’ll cover in this week’s flow chat:
Flow Combination: I’ll break down how I constructed this flow, piece by piece, and how it all comes together in one super flow at the end.
Incorporating Levels: I’ll demonstrate how subtle changes can increase intensity and vary the flow by adjusting the levels of poses.
Inhales & Exhales: There's a beautiful art in finding the right way to match poses with inhales in exhales. We’ll explore how slight adjustments to poses can better align with the rhythm of our breath.
